Qian Cheng

Qian Cheng is currently a post-doc research scientist at Columbia University. He received his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from Arizona State University in 2016, and a B.S. in Materials Science from Fudan University in 2011. He works on electrochemical energy conversion and storage techniques, such as batteries and photocatalysts. Specifically, he works on designing novel electrode and electrolyte materials for next-generation batteries, such as solid electrolytes for long lifetime solid-state batteries, high-performance cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries, and safe electrolyte for Li-S batteries with high energy density. He also innovates new battery architectures, such as foldable batteries and origami batteries.
